Careers Information
THe HTA has been working in partnership with other organisations within the horticulture sector to develop a web portal to support young people and those advising them in finding out about the range of careers available within the sector.
As part of the 'GROW your own career in horticulture' initiative, HTA have been working collaboratively with other key organisations in the industry to develop a web portal, aimed at attracting new entrants into the industry. Fronted by Chris Beardshaw, the website is targeted towards young people. The job roles have been grouped according to interests and curriculum areas which young people will recognise. The website has been designed to demonstrate the diversity and breadth of the available careers across the horticultural sector.
HTA are currently developing a careers map, which will give more detailed information about career progression routes from within the industry and from outside. This information will be supported by case studies and other relevant information for those pursuing a career in ornamental growing, garden retail or landscaping. This will be availbable on the website, early in 2010.
