GARDEN FUTURES CONFERENCE 2010 - Garden Industy - Evolution or Revolution?
Tuesday 12 & Wednesday 13 October
Garden Industry – Evolution or Revolution? is the theme of the 2010 Garden Futures Conference and builds on last year’s HTA strategic business event for the garden industry. Retail expert Mary Portas of BBC’s Mary Queen of Shops fame, headlines one of the strongest conference line ups ever seen at a garden industry gathering. With a resurgent interest in all things to do with the garden, Mary has been invited to visit some of the UK’s leading garden centres and report back on the state of the sector.
We are pleased to welcome back Pippa Goodman from the Future Foundation who wowed delegates to last year’s conference with an intriguing and insightful exposition of consumer trends. Delegates will see the results of a major new HTA research study into consumer use, attitudes and expectations of the modern garden centre.
The programme will also include sessions on the impact digital technologies are having on the way our sector communicates and trades with its customers and will conclude with Channel 4’s Landscape Man, Matthew Wilson, Hillier Garden Centres Managing Director Andy McIndoe, and Mark Gregory of Landform Consultants talking about how garden design and planting trends will influence what customers will expect to find on shelves in the future.
FULL PROGRAMME NOW AVAILABLE BELOW
The conference will be held at the Barbican Centre in London and will be preceded by a dinner where we are delighted to have Ben Page, Chief Executive of Ipsos Mori, speaking on how the private sector should be responding to the continuing political, economic and social changes within the UK.
Are our modern garden centres retail palaces fit for a queen? Book your place now at this year’s HTA Garden Futures Dinner and Conference to be among the first to find out.
