BEDDING FOCUS 2010
A One-Day Event for Bedding & Seasonal Plant Growers
Thursday 28 October 2010 at Ball Colgrave, near Banbury
The first ever HTA conference for the bedding plant industry – Bedding Focus 2010 – is shaping up to be an essential and unmissable event for everyone with an interest in the bedding market. The event was initiated by the HTA Bedding Plant Group which was set up earlier this year.
Set against the presentation of bang up-to-date, sector-specific market information and an insight into future consumer behaviour from Pippa Goodman of The Future Foundation, Bedding Focus will also hear about ‘the bedding plant of the future’ from global expert Garry Grueber of Cultivaris as well as retailer expectations from Boyd Douglas-Davies of Webbs of Wychbold.
The latest subject to be added to the already strong programme is a presentation on the hot-topic of peat alternatives for the professional market. With the government currently reviewing its peat-reduction targets for growers, Charles Drewe of New Leaf Sustainability Partnership will outline the current positions, where the subject is going and options for the industry.
Realising the future is addressed in the afternoon sessions when we look at logistics and efficiency improvements with HTA Lean Consultant, Neil Fedden highlighting the real life benefits of Lean for bedding producers with a case study of bedding grower, Ornamental Plants.
The conference will be wrapped up by considering trends in garden use including the use of bedding and grow your own and smaller gardens and drawn to a close by HTA Director of Business Development, Tim Briercliffe outlining what needs to be done to grow the sector in the future.
Hosted by Ball Colegrave and with sponsorship support from Hortipak this is a critical event for all breeders, seed and young plant companies and growers of bedding plants.
Further programme details including delegate rates will be available shortly. Please complete and return the form (below) to register your interest today.
