APL & SGD Autumn Workshop
Planting ideas and making them last...
We are delighted to invite you to join us at the 2010 APL & SGD Autumn Workshop which will be held at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens & Glasshouses on Thursday 23 September 2010. This year’s workshop Planting ideas and making them last… is another excellent opportunity for APL and SGD members to get together to listen to, compare and share ideas and experiences.
The day promises to be both lively and informative with a wide range of topics covered by well known personalities; their expertise is based on first hand knowledge and will certainly plant inspirational ideas for all delegates. Speakers include, Anthony Henn, Director of Garden for Life and Supreme Winner of the 2010 APL Awards and James Alexander-Sinclair, garden and landscape designer, writer and television presenter. There will also be time during the day for discussion on issues raised before a tour of the variety of specialist gardens and glasshouses.
Please see the flyer below for a full programme details.
The Birmingham Botanical and Horticultural Society was founded in 1829, aiming topresent its members with the greatest possible range of unique and wonderful species of plants from all over the world. The plant collection now contains over 7000 plants. Some plants are planted because the flowers, foliage, fruit, or bark give pleasure while others are chosen for practical purposes to give screening, shelter or food. Some are of botanical interest, are a rarity, or under threat nationally or globally so are therefore in need of conservation. The mission of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens is to bring enjoyment and to use the plant collection to spread the message that plants are essential
